Metro Laundry Service Attends the Congressional Black Caucus’s 53rd Annual Legislative Conference
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD, Sept. 15, 2024—Metro Laundry Service joined other thought leaders, hospitality industry experts, and policymakers at the Congressional Black Caucus’s 53rd Annual Legislative Conference (ALC). Held from September 11–15, 2024, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, this conference discussed matters impacting the minority-owned business community.
While at the conference, Richard Burney and Vada O’Hara from Metro Laundry Service’s business development team gained valuable knowledge to refine the company’s strategies and enhance its service offerings to better align with the evolving needs of its clients. The pair attended the National African American Hotel Owners, Operators, and Developers (NABHOOD)’s “ABCs of Hotel Ownership & Multicultural Tourism” workshop.
“Attending events like the Annual Legislative Conference is important to us as a Minority-Owned Business,” said Steven Young, COO of Metro Laundry Service. “These conferences provide valuable opportunities to connect and network with other industry leaders who are committed to supporting the growth of businesses like our own.”
In addition to deepening their understanding of current hospitality industry trends, representatives from Metro Laundry Service engaged with prominent figures in the field, including Andy Ingraham, CEO and President of NABHOOD, and Norm Jenkins, President/CEO of Capstone Development and NABHOOD Board member. Together, they discussed best practices for industry growth and how to improve operational efficiencies.
“It’s always a pleasure to attend the Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference,” said Richard Burney, Business Developer for Metro Laundry Service. “The connections we made and the insights we gained will undoubtedly enhance Metro Laundry Service’s ability to better serve and meet the needs of luxury hotels in the D.C. area.”
